Senior Electrical and Automation Engineer at Prevas Västerås

We are growing in Västerås and are now looking for senior electrical and automation engineers who want to help shape tomorrow's innovations within the Swedish industry.

About the role

With us, you will have a role with both depth and breadth – you will work with advanced automation, electrical design, and industrial IT in projects spanning the process, manufacturing, and machine-building industries. You will play a central role in our deliveries where we develop complete systems for control, monitoring, and design of equipment and facilities.

Your main responsibilities

As a senior electrical and automation engineer, you will:

• Lead and execute projects within electrical, control, and regulation technology – from design to commissioning.
• Develop and optimize control systems based on PLC, HMI, and SCADA platforms (ABB 800xA, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Allen-Bradley, etc.).
• Be responsible for electrical documentation, design, and integration between electrical systems, control systems, and mechanics.
• Support customers with technical analysis, requirement specification, and troubleshooting.
• Act as a technical sounding board and mentor within your area of expertise.

Our assignments cover several industries – from the automotive and robotics industries to energy, process, and mining.

Who are you?

You have a solid background in automation and/or electrical design, with at least 7–10 years of experience in similar roles. You have a relevant engineering degree and a deep understanding of industrial systems, processes, and technical workflows.

We believe you have experience with:

• PLC and HMI programming, preferably with multiple manufacturers
• Electrical design and documentation in modern CAD tools
• Control technology, instrumentation, and dimensioning
• Technical project management or design management

As a person, you are analytical, responsible, and unpretentious. You thrive in a consultant role, are easy to collaborate with, and are driven by creating value for the customer.
